You will work with a trained lay counselor who is supervised by a team of licensed mental health professionals.
Yes. Compassion Counseling Center is a Christian ministry program of TEAM Rochester 501(c)3. Our staff, volunteers, lay counselors and supervisors adhere to the AACC Code of Ethics and the AACC Statement of Faith.
Yes. Compassion Counseling Center works with individuals from a variety of faith backgrounds. Our lay counselors will offer you the opportunity to explore your spiritual and emotional well-being at a depth and pace that is comfortable for you.
You will not be charged for your counseling sessions. A small fee to cover the cost of assessments is charged. Those who receive services are encouraged to contribute as they desire.
Most counseling sessions run for 10-20 weeks. Additional counseling sessions are available if progress is being made.
Compassion Counseling Center staff maintains confidentiality unless a release of information form for a specific individual or institution is signed or unless mandated by a court of law. Minnesota law requires Compassion Counseling Center staff to report any abuse or neglect of a child, adolescent, or vulnerable adult and any imminent harm to an individual or specific threat of harm. The counseling relationship is one of mutual collaboration that focuses on the concerns of the individual. Professional boundaries are upheld to protect confidentiality and the integrity of the counseling relationship.
