Severe Weather Policy

In the event of severe weather, Compassion Counseling Center staff will monitor the forecast and make a decision about closure by 3:00 PM.

If the Rochester Public Schools are closed, close early, or cancel evening activities, CCC will automatically be closed.

If CCC remains open but you are unable to travel safely, please call to let us know. Weather-related absences will not be counted as a missed session.

Absence Policy for Counselees

If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a scheduled appointment, please notify
both your counselor and the reception desk at least one week in advance.

For unexpected absences, call the Compassion Counseling Center at 507-208-8822 as soon as
you are aware that you cannot attend your session.

Excused absences:
 weather-related events
 personal or family health issues
 family emergencies
 work-related requirements
 legal requirements

Unexcused absences:
 social events
 sporting events
 children’s activities
 vacations

Three consecutive unexcused absences will require a discussion with a supervisor or the
Clinical Director regarding the feasibility of continuing counseling.
